WEEK6 — Envision 3d interface

When I thought about how to present data as I was classifying my data in the swamp of excel, the image that’s first crossing my draft was like the one showing beneath:

I was a little scary by this thought — it supposes to be considered as a “forbidden forest” in terms of visualizing data. The motto is “be really conscious when visualizing data in a 3d form”.

But what if we can use a graph like this as a “3d button”, and toggle it with multiple 2d charts like just grabbing a piece of charts and put it onto an area to look into details?

I wonder is there a way can enable users to do that on a webpage?

And furthermore, how I achieve this effect in the 3d immersive context?

Start from this point, I began to think about what exactly does it mean to design a 3d interface? What are the possibilities of 3d interface?

Here is an example of a 3d interface.

However, besides interacting with the interface in a 3d way which is more intuitive, more like our behaviors in the real world, the structure of the “interface” per se might be also expressed in a 3d form. And it can be both intuitive and abstractive.
